Company Overview
Maoko Solutions (Maoko) is a boutique engineering consulting firm providing Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) services across water, wastewater, energy and general engineering sectors.
At Maoko, we subscribe to the tenets of a circular economy. This means we strive to optimise all our designs by designing out waste, promoting passive forms of treatment, reducing dependency on chemicals and reducing treatment complexity.
We are not biased towards any particular technology supplier or treatment solutions, which allows us to assemble tailored solutions to meet our clients’ varied requirements. This unique proposition means we do not sell equipment to our clients, but solutions.

Meet the Team
Maoko employs highly skilled engineers and support staff to ensure that the needs of our clients are put first and always met. Our engineering management team is drawn from local and international top tier universities and our technical director is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a professional engineer (Pr.Eng) as well as with the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) as a chartered member. Our Project Manager is registered with South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a professional chemical scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat).

CLEAN RESOURCES
Where possible, all proffered solutions will be designed to promote processes with low chemical footprint, utilities which provide a low environmental impact and components sourced locally and ethically.
RESOURCE RECOVERY
As much as practically possible, a zero-waste model will be employed. This means solutions that produce waste with the potential for beneficiation will be preferred. We are committed to environmental and water sustainability.
RESOURCE EFFICIENCY
Our experience in the water and energy markets, coupled with our impartial stance on all process technologies ensures that we are able to offer our clients a fit for purpose solution that is not over or under designed.
Corporate & Social Responsibility
Maoko does not only partner with clients to solve their complex engineering problems, but we also partner with our community to ensure environmental sustainability and social empowerment. We have a number of corporate social responsibility programs that include:
1. The Maoko Empower Scholarship Through a partnership with Margaret Nduna Memorial Trust (MNMT), we pay annual school fees for students who excel in Mathematics and Science as a way of encouraging future engineers.
2. Project Oasis Project Oasis has fully autonomous water kiosks that are in low-income townships in Harare, Zimbabwe. It was conceived in response to the plight of most communities in accessing safe, clean water.
3. School Magazine – Eastridge Primary School Maoko sponsors a school magazine at Eastridge Primary School as a way of showcasing the schools various activities and as a means of promoting a sense of identity, cohesion, and pride for the students. It is our hope that through this magazine, success stories of former students can be broadcast to current students as a source of inspiration. Career information will also be included, and a culture of mentoring will be fostered. Our contribution to this initiative will go beyond financial and will include the facilitation of interactive discussions between students, career professionals and selected mentors.
4. We also guarantee 30% off our fees for all projects for schools, hospitals, faith-based organisations, and non-profit organisations.
